Come play in the 2009 Delaware Sports Hall of Fame Golf Tournament on October 15th!
Play golf with the First State’s sporting crowd at the Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame’s 2009 Golf Event on October 15th at Delaware National Golf Club. Men’s, Women’s and Mixed Teams are invited. The event limited to 120 golfers supports the operation of the Delaware Sports Museum.

New in 2007 at Delaware Sports Museum
A new exhibit fueled by the donation of over 300 sports books by inductee Izzy Katzman makes its debut. A soon to be open sports lending library of books and videos are to be available to Museum members. The exhibit in the Museum’s rotunda includes the library and a reading area for visitors to use. Mr. Katzmans’ vast collection includes biographies, published writings of many sports writers and broadcasters, research materials and more. Included are the published works for a number of inductees to the Delaware Sports Hall of Fame. In the video library includes competition videos of Delaware’s Gold Medal winning Olympians, plus documentary films of sports history. For more information about the library contact the Museum.

SEEKING VOLUNTEERS
Are you a history buff? Interested is Delaware Sports History?
The Delaware Sports Museum and Hall of Fame has volunteer opportunities at the Museum, located at Frawley Stadium on the Wilmington Riverfront. The 5000 square foot Museum showcases over 150 years of Delaware sports history. The Hall of Fame, founded in 1976, has inducted over 240 athletes, coaches, journalists, administrators and officials representing 27 different sports.
Volunteers are needed as Museum greeters and tour guides to serve the public Tuesdays through Saturdays. If you can volunteer one day a month for a couple of hours or more call (302) 425-3263 or e-mail dsmhof1@aol.com.
Volunteer opportunities also include assisting the Museum curator, education director, historian and working in technology and membership areas. Activities include doing research for new exhibits, contact with elementary and middle schools for the school tour program and becoming a member of the Museum’s speakers bureau.

THE MISSION
Since 1976 the Delaware Hall of Fame has honored and promoted
Delaware’s outstanding athletic performers including those
who have brought recognition to the First State through their coaching,
officiating administrative and journalism contributions. Additionally,
the museum shall preserve the performances of Delaware inductees
and other athletes through the display of memorabilia, artifacts
and photos and videos.
